This site is run by Cliff Mogridge, Lewmar / Whitlock agent and former Lewmar employee (for 15 years); based in Emsworth, U.K.
Ciff served and Apprenticeship in Machine tools as a fitter and turner At George Kingsbury in Gosport, Also worked at C&N before joining Lewmar in 1987 Building Americas Cup and Whitbread round the world (later Volvo) race boats as well as large custom winches for the superyachts. He ended up Product managing the Windlass division at Lewmar until becoming self employed in 2002.
Cliff was appointed as Whitlock/Lewmar agent by Lewmar MD Robert Hill in 2004 to support the steering sector of the business when the Whitlock Service agents retired and has specialised in steering systems from then.
Cliff, also known as Whitlock South/Winch Servicing, provides back up for the original Whitlock steering systems and the current Lewmar steering systems. We also service repair and install other makes Solimar, Edson and Goiot and others.
